Albert Allen Ryun

January 9, 1937 – August 29, 2026
Albert Allen Ryun, 89 of Dover, Missouri, passed away on August 29, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born on January 9, 1937 in Dover, to Charles and Grace Ryun. He was a graduate of Lexington High School. He was united in marriage to Josephine Cretzmeyer on August 3, 1957 in Lexington, Missouri at the Immaculate Conception Church.
Albert worked many different jobs over the years while farming and raising their family with Josephine. His work included, a job at Lake City, running a gas station, driving a school bus, and selling the many fruits grown on the family farm. He was resourceful and hardworking, always finding creative ways to provide for his family.
He made sure that when one door closed, another one opened. Eventually, Albert began farming full time, which became his true passion. He loved the farming life and everything that came with it, taking great pride in the land and the work he did.
Albert and Josephine also enjoyed going to dances together, where they made many wonderful memories and good friends over the years.
Survivors include son, Albert Ryun, Jr. (Helen) of Mayview; daughter, Teresa Dieckhoff (Ellis) of Higginsville; daughter, Mary Jo Hawthorne (Warren) of Mayview; son Mike Ryun (Gloria) of Higginsville; and daughter, JoAnn Swartz (Randy) of Lexington; and friend, Susan Craft of Lexington; brother, Jim Ryun (Joyce) of Corder; brother, Teddy Ryun (Donna) of Wellington; sister, Carol Sanders of Blue Springs; sisters in law, Betty Pickell (Hugh) of Lee’s Summit, and Sue Cretzmeyer of Lexington. There are twenty seven grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren that he loved and adored.
He was preceded in death by Josephine, his wife of 68 years; his parents; infant brother, Eugene; his mother and father in law, George and Anna Cretzmeyer; and one great grandson, Caleb Ryun.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, September 1st. Visitation to follow from 6-8 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 2 nd at 10:00 am.
All services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Higginsville. He will be buried in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Dover. Pallbearers – Grandsons – Jeff Ryun, Russell Ryun, Jason Dieckhoff, Cameron Dieckhoff, Kris White, Matt White, Kyle Hawthorne, Sean Ryun, and Nick Swartz. Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
