Donald Ray Fiene

Donald “Donnie” Ray Fiene, 77, of Concordia, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Donnie was born on Aug. 12, 1949, in Higginsville, to Helen and Vernon Fiene. He was baptized Sept. 4, 1949, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma, and confirmed on April 7, 1963, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Ernestville. The family lived in the Alma, Higginsville and Concordia areas.

He graduated from Concordia High School in 1967 before being drafted into the U. S. Army where he served in the Vietnam War.

On April 22, 1972, Donnie married Rita Jane Beumer.

He began his civilian career in construction and later worked as a mechanic and did maintenance, driver education and grounds keeping.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Fay and Vernon Johann Melvin Fiene; brother, Robert Fiene; and two sisters: Vernona Darlene Spielbusch and Florence (Tootie) Fay Wahlers.

He is survived by his wife of the home, Rita; children, Kyle Ray Fiene (Julie) of Concordia and Kara Marie Bouillette (Philip) of Prairie Village, Kan.; four grandchildren; sister, Barbara Kay Leasure (Steve) of Independence; brother-in-law, Jack Spielbusch of Overland Park, Kan.; and much extended family.

Funeral services was held Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia. Burial with military rites followed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.
