Allan W. Biesemeyer, 93, of Higginsville, died on Sept. 4, 2026 at Meyer Care Center. He was born Jan. 28, 1933, in Higginsville, to Walter and Mildred (Heidbrink) Biesemeyer.

He grew up in Corder and graduated from Corder High School. He started college but was interrupted by the Korean War. He served in the Army from 19531955. After his discharge, he finished his Bachelors in Agriculture Science from Central Missouri State College in 1958.

He married Mary Louise Rumbo on Oct. 27, 1957 at the United Methodist Church in Corder.

For the first 25 years of their married life, they lived and worked on the farm. In 1985 Mary entered the ministry and they started a tour of Missouri as she was called to different congregations. Allan drove school buses for Sedalia and Oak Grove schools, and worked at various funeral homes. In 1996, he accepted an invitation to go to Atlanta to drive shuttle buses for the Olympics.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; three sons: Greg Biesemeyer (Andrea) of Warrensburg, Tim Biesemeyer (Donna) of Higginsville and Paul Biesemeyer (Joan) of Bates City; sister Evelyn Marcks (Charles) of Columbia; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Sept. 9 at Grace United Methodist Church. Funeral services followed, officiated by Rev. Dr. Tammy Carter and Rev. Ralph Varner. He was buried at the Calvary Cemetery in Corder. Memorials are suggested to Grace UMC or Lafayette County Cancer Coalition.
