Keith Allen Dorsch

October 20, 1949 – September 29, 2026

Keith Allen Dorsch, 76, of Lexington, Missouri, joined the Lord on the morning of Tuesday, September 29,2026, while receiving care at St. Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City.

Keith and his twin brother Kent Ervin entered this world on October 20, 1949, to Mr. Allen Richard Dorsch and Mrs. Elsie Marie (Gausman) Dorsch. Reverend Beissenherz of St. Luke Evangelical Church baptized him on November 27th. Keith attended Wellington-Napoleon R-9 schools and graduated in the class of 1967. He attended Missouri Boys State, showed cattle for the Missouri State Fair and American Royal, earned the State FFA degree, served as vice President of the Student Council, edited the yearbook, and was a member of the Lettermens Club. After graduation, he attended Spoon River College, where he studied farm machine technology and served as president

Following school, Keith served in the Missouri Army National Guard for six years. He married the love of his life, identical twin Connie Dea Finkemeier, on June 9, 1973. On July 6, 1980, Connie and Keith were blessed by the birth of their son, Zebadiah Allen. Sadly, Zebadiah was born with six congenital heart defects and passed away at six months old. On August 17,1981, Keith and Connie’s prayers were answered when they adopted Isaiah David, completing their family.

Keith was an elected school board member for twenty years, holding offices such as president and treasurer. He served on the Board of Region Five Leadership Committee and the MSBA Board of Directors Executive Committee. He received the Alumnus of the Year honor in 2015. Keith was a pillar of his community, serving on the Lafayette Regional Hospital board, MFA board, the board of New Life Home for Children, and as president of both Salem United Church of Christ (Higginsville) and St. Luke Church boards.

Keith was a very involved father, from leading Boy Scout Troop 317 including sumer camp at H. Roe Bartle Reservation in the tribe ot Mic-O-Say, serving as a judge for schoolsponsored speech debates, waiting tables during dinner theatres, and “patiently” teaching Isaiah how to drive his Jeep, While Isaiah attended the University of Missouri, Keith became an active member of the Mizzou Parents and Alumni Associations and remained active for many years.

Keith devoted his life to farming, his true passion. He was an Asgrow seed dealer for many years. His love of farming was passed down when he was upgraded to “Papa” for the first time in 2016, with the birth of Josiah Allen, and again in 2019 with Lucas William. He taught them very important lessons and was sure to show them the ropes on how to run a farm and drive a combine.

Keith was a man of many talents, hobbies, and trades. He loved the Kansas City Chiefs football team and, of course, his Missouri Tigers! Most of all, he deeply loved his best friend and wife, Connie, and was a loyal, loving father and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his son Zebadiah Allen Dorsch, his mother Elsie, father Allen, twin brother Kent, brother-in-law Carl, his maternal grandparents August and Lizzie Gausman, and his paternal grandparents Robert and Dora Dorsch. Keith is survived by his loving wife, Connie; son Isaiah David Dorsch (Suzanne) of Rayinore; grandsons Josiah Allen Dorsch and Lucas William Dorsch; sister Carolyn Scheske of St. Louis; and Sister-In-Law Linda Dorsch of Wellington.

A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at St. Luke Evangelical Free Church, 700 MO-224, Wellington, MO, 64097. Interment will follow at St. Luke Cemetery.
