Lady Chiefs ground the Orioles

The Santa Fe Lady Chiefs traveled over to Orange and Black territory last week for softball at Concordia on April 8. The Lady Orioles led one to zero after one, and then Santa Fe dented home four times in the 2nd, and 5 more times in the third to open up a big advantage. After a scoreless fourth, the Lady Chiefs added 5 more runs and held on for a spread win of 14-4 after 5 innings.
In the circle was Tatum Fitzwater who went all 5 innings, allowing 7 hits, 4 earned runs, 2 walks, and issuing 10 strikeouts. At the plate Chesney Warner was 3 for 3 on the day, Keastin Kitchen was 2 for 2, Samantha Mueller was 3 for 4 including a triple, Fitzwater had 3 hits in 4 at bats, including a home run, and other hits were added by Abigail Mueller, Brooke Dieking, JoHanna Breshears, and Audrey Finkeldei.
The win takes the record to 4 wins, 6 losses, and 1 tie.
