The Missouri State Fair is continuing the tradition of honoring the men and women who have served or are serving our amazing country with the Veteran/Active Military Honorees of the Day. The nomination period is open now through May 25, 2026.

Eleven veterans/active duty service members from Missouri will be chosen from the nominations and honored daily in a Military Flag Retreat ceremony to take place just outside the Historic Administration Building on the Fairgrounds.

Individuals can be nominated using a form available on the Missouri State Fair’s website at https://www.mostatefair.com/attractions/ military-flag-retreatceremony/. The form should be filled out as thoroughly as possible, as this is the information the panel of judges will use to select the 11 honorees (additional space may be used). Nominees must be Missouri residents and available to attend one of the 11 days of the 2026 Missouri State Fair, Aug. 13-23. Once a nomination form is complete, it can be mailed or emailed to the Missouri State Fair marketing office to be entered into the selection process. The deadline to submit nominations is May 25, 2026.
