Chiefs get win over Northwest, drop contests to Carrollton, Lone Jack, St. Paul

Santa Fe with Norborne took one on the chin last week against the Trojans of Carrolllton, who rolled to a 20-2 victory in Alma on 4-20-26. Dalton Doak went three innings, and Wyatt Aversman, and Jensen Rehkop saw action as well in the spread loss.

At the plate Doak was 2 for 2, and Aversman 1 for 2, however that was it for the Chiefs offensively. Carrollton pounded the ball hard in this one adding 5 home runs and exploding for 11 runs in the 4th inning.

Next was a conference game at Lone Jack. Santa Fe kept this one close until a 7 run 5th inning by the Mules spelled doom for the Chiefs. Lone Jack would take the win 10-3. Korben Dierking was on the bump going 5 innings, with 3 walks, and tossing 3 strikeouts. Brayden Livingston saw action as well, going an inning.

Doak was 2 for 4, while Rehkop, and Aversman were both 1 for 2 for the Santa Fe offense.

Northwest of Hughesville was at Dalton Wilkinson field on 4-22-26 in a wild 16-15 win for the Chiefs. Northwest plated 5 runs in the 2nd, and Santa Fe stormed back to dent home 7 times in the third. After both teams scored thrice in the 4th, Santa Fe lunged ahead going into the final frame up 16 to 10. The Mustangs began their comeback attempt scoring 5 times, but Santa Fe held on by a run for the win.
