County’s public GIS System updated to include 2026 aerial photography
The Lafayette County Assessor’s Office is pleased to announce that the county’s public Geographic Information System (GIS) has been updated to include new aerial photography captured in 2026.
“This update represents a significant step forward in ensuring our community has access to reliable, up-to-date information,” said Craig Williams, Lafayette County Assessor. “Whether you are a homeowner, developer, real estate professional, or public official, having accurate visual data is essential for making informed decisions.”
Key Benefits of the Updated GIS Photography:
• Improved Accuracy: High-resolution imagery allows for better identification of property features, boundaries, and improvements.
• Support for Development & Planning: Builders, planners, and local officials can make more informed decisions using current visual data.
• Efficient Property Review: Real estate professionals and appraisers gain a valuable tool for property assessments and market analysis.
• Public Accessibility: The GIS platform remains freely available online, ensuring equal access for all community members.
The GIS system is available to the public online and can be accessed through the Lafayette County website. Residents are encouraged to explore the updated maps and photography and utilize the system for property research and general information.
