Lafayette County waste collection event planned in Odessa
On Saturday, May 9, Lafayette County residents are invited to participate in a Community Cleanup Recycling/Waste Collection event, with items accepted at the Odessa Community Building (601 W. Main St., Odessa) from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
This event is intended to provide county residents with an opportunity to dispose of unwanted household items safely and responsibly. Items will only be accepted from residents, not commercial businesses.
Items accepted include furniture, clothes, bulk debris, two appliances per household (freonbased appliances like window AC units or refrigerators will not be accepted), automobile tires ($2 fee for first four tires, $5 for additional tires. Tires will only be accepted without rims).
Items not accepted include yard waste and household hazardous waste. For household hazardous waste drop-off locations, please visit moswmd-f. com/recycling-disposal-information.
Additionally, a reuse swap area will be available for residents to drop and swap reusable collected items such as furniture and appliances.
This event is sponsored by the City of Odessa, Lafayette County Commission, Big Brother Big Sister of Johnson county, West Central Missouri Solid Waste Management District F and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
