Each year the Tieman-Blackburn American Legion Post 478 selects 8th grade students to receive the American Legion School Award Medal. This award recognizes students who demonstrate good citizenship and quality character. Each student received a certificate and a medallion from the Legion and a giftcard from the school. Santa Fe students who earned this award were recognized during the end-of-year assembly in the Old Gym on May 14. Receiving the award for 2026 were Daniel Ballance and Hallie Schuster.
