Waverly PD partners with LCHD to provide car seats to those in need

The Waverly Police Department is proud to announce a new partnership with the Lafayette County Health Department aimed at improving child passenger safety throughout the community.

Through this partnership, the Waverly Police Department has received a supply of child car seats that will be made available to community members who may be in need. These car seats are intended to assist families facing financial hardship, as well as individuals who may have recently been involved in a motor vehicle accident and are in immediate need of a safe replacement seat for their child.

Child safety seats play a critical role in protecting children during travel, and this program is designed to help ensure every child in our community has access to safe transportation regardless of circumstance.

“We are grateful for the partnership with the Lafayette County Health Department and their commitment to the safety and well-being of our residents,” said the Waverly Police Chief Stephen Phillips. “This program is another example of agencies working together to support families and keep our children safe.”

Individuals who may be in need of a car seat are encouraged to contact the Waverly Police Department for additional information regarding availability and eligibility.

The Waverly Police Department remains committed to serving the community through partnerships, prevention, and public safety initiatives that make a meaningful impact on the lives of local residents.
