Lexington girls take first in Holden meet

The Lexington High School Girls Track Team got some good performances on a cold day, and earned first place honors in the Team Standings, at the Holden Invitational last Friday at Holden High School.

On the Girls side, Ellie Lichte won both the 800 and 1600 Meter Runs, setting a new school record in the 800 of 2:22. Addison Smith won the 3200 Meter, Kai Sheperd took first in the Long Jump, and the 4×800 Relay Team of Tessa Lovell, Phoebe Engelbrecht, Smith and Lichte also won again. For the Boys, the 4×400 Relay team of Brody Neece, Cash Cole, Chael Lichte and Conner Soendker placed first and, while he finished second in the 3200 Meter Run, Soendker broke the Lexington School Record for the event, with a time of 9:47.

The Lexington Boys placed eleventh in the Team Standings. Knob Noster was second, with Higginsville third in the Girls Division.
