Minutemen baseball team splits home games

The Lexington Minutemen played very well and led for 6 innings, but the Van Horn Falcons exploded for 6 runs in the top of the seventh to claim a 9 to 7 comeback win a week ago Monday at Lexington Community Park.
Lexington jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, with walks to Alex Kraft, Drew Bollmeyer, and Isac Huffman, two errors, a sacrifice fly by Hunter Meyer and a single by Braxton Emerson, and then scored twice more in the second as Alex Kraft barely missed a home run on a double, with Hunter Meyer singling him in to make it 5-1. The Minutemen then scored their only other 2 runs in the fourth inning with hits by Kale Sander and Meyer to make it 7-3 Lexington.
Give Van Horn credit though, as they had 3 doubles and a single, and benefitted from 2 walks and an error in the seventh inning to pull off a great Comeback win for first year Head Coach Levi Legate, who was the Minutemen Coach for the past two seasons. Trey Perez pitched 6 1/3 innings for Lexington allowing 3 earned runs on 6 hits with 4 strikeouts. Abel Morris also had a hit for Lexington.
Concordia at Lexington
The Minutemen had their second home game in as many days, and they got a nice 6 to 2 bounce back win over the Concordia Orioles, a week ago Tuesday.
The Minutemen jumped ahead early, as they tallied 2 runs in the first inning thanks to two errors, a walk to Braxton Emerson and a double from Trey Perez. They scored another run in the second frame, as Abel Morris, Alex Kraft and Hunter Meyer all drew walks, and Kale Sander singled, and Lexington scored again in the fourth, as Sander tripled, and Meyer drove him home with a single to make it 4-0.
Concordia made it close by scoring 2 runs in the top of the sixth, as Eli Beissenherz, Brody Willis and Cash Fitzpatrick had three straight hits, to make it 42, but the Minutemen added 2 insurance runs in the bottom of the inning, thanks to walks to Kraft and Bollmeyer and back to back singles by Meyer and Emerson, and it was 6-2, which ended up being the final. Kraft and Meyer shared the pitching duties for Lexington, allowing only 2 runs combined on 6 hits. Meyer and Sander had two hits each for Lexington, while Beissenherz collected three hits for Concordia.
