Lexington Middle School track teams compete in two meets

Marshall Meet

The Lexington Middle School Girls placed fourth in the Team Standings, while the Boys were fifth, in the Marshall Invitational Meet on the Marshall High School track last Wednesday. Ailayah Gilmore was a double winner for Lexington, as she took first place in both the Shot Put and the Discus, while Amelia Arcuri tied for first in the Pole Vault. Kennedy Beal came close twice, as she finished second in both the 800 and 1600 Meter Runs, and was only 2 seconds behind the winner in both.

The 4×100 Relay Team of Emerson Borgman, Audrey Bayne, Sutton Eaton and Gabby Grosso placed third, while both the 4×200 Relay Team of Michaela Somerville, Kimber Sander, Charly Smith and Gracie Farris, and the 4×400 Team of Beal, Grosso, Farris, and Braylee Rasa finished fourth. Grosso was also fifth in the 100 Meter Dash, with Lorelei Morris sixth in the 400 Meter Dash.

On the Boys side, Wesley Anderson placed second in the 100 Meter and third in both the 200 Meter Dash, and the High Jump, with Hunter Harned placing fourth in the Long Jump, and fifth in the 100 Meter Dash. James Worstell was fourth in the 1600 Meter and fifth in the 800 Meter Runs, while the 4×100 Meter Team of Madaux Emerson Aiden Bayne, Jack Taylor and Harned, the 4×400 Team of Anderson, Emerson, Harned and Elijah Jones, and the 4×800 Team of Bayne, Worstell, Case Lichte, and Dale Doak, all finished fourth. Jones was sixth in the Long Jump and Lichte seventh in the Triple Jump.

Oak Grove Meet

The Lexington Girls placed ninth as a team while the Boys were tenth in the Oak Grove Invitational Meet last Thursday at Oak Grove High School. For the Girls, Kennedy Beal was a double winner for Lexington, taking first in both the 1600 Meter and the 800 Meter Run, which saw the top 4 Girls all finish within 2 seconds of each other. Amelia Arcuri placed fourth for the Minutewomen in the Pole Vault. On the Boys side, Hunter Harned was the first place winner in the Long Jump, while Wesley Anderson finished fourth in the 100 Meter Dash. The 4×800 Meter Relay Team of Aiden Bayne, James Worstell, Case Lichte and Dale Doak had a sixth place finish in this highly competitive meet.
