A Season of Celebration and Achievement at LHS Lexington High School has been buzzing with excitement this spring, as students and staff recently wrapped up a highly successful Academic Week, held March 2–6.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Lexington community, Academic Week was fully funded through donations. That support allowed students to enjoy a wide variety of experiences without cost, creating lasting memories and reinforcing the strong connection between the school and its community. LHS extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed—your support truly made a difference.
Also, recently our students went to the Job Olympics in Odessa where they brought home the trophy as overall winner. The Job Olympics is an event that provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate real world job and life skills through a variety of handson, competitive activities. These events are designed to build confidence, independence, teamwork and workplace readiness. Six students earned individual medals and will be advancing to the state level competition on May 12.
As the school year continues, there are several important events on the horizon. Prom is just around the corner and will be held on April 25. This much-anticipated evening is sure to be a highlight for students, offering a chance to celebrate, dress up, and enjoy time together.
Shortly after, students will take part in the End-of-Course (EOC) Assessments from April 28 through May 8. These state assessments are an important opportunity for students to demonstrate their learning and growth. Students are encouraged to arrive on time, get plenty of rest, and give their best effort each day.
May brings special recognition for the Class of 2025. Honors Night for seniors will be held on May 6, celebrating their academic achievements and accomplishments.
Then, the moment they’ve been working toward — graduation — will take place on May 17. It promises to be a proud and memorable day for students, families, and the entire Lexington community.
With so many exciting milestones ahead, it’s a great time to be a Minuteman and we want to thank the community for their continued support.
