Softball handles business against Midway
Santa Fe got back into the swing of things in a big way after rough weather, playing against Midway, on 4-20-26. On the road the Chiefs sprang for 3 runs in frame one, and held that advantage through 3 innings. Fast forward to inning 6, Midway finally got on the scoreboard plating 4 runs, but the damage was done as the Chiefs were up 11-4 at that point. A nine run 7th inning explosion by the visiting Red and Black smothered any comeback hopes to be held by Midway in a 20-4 romp, and win by SFHS.
Swinging heavy lumber: Doubles were produced by Tatum Fitzwater, Abigail Mueller, Audrey Finkeldei, Brooke Dierking, (with two), and Olivia Long. In the circle, Fitzwater shined, going 6 innings, allowing 4 earned runs, on 7 hits allowed, 6 walks, and 14 strikeouts. JoHanna Breshears pitched as well, going for an inning, on no earned runs, 1 walk, and 3 K’s.
