Dance the night away to help light up Lexington

Community members and area neighbors will have a chance to enjoy a night of music and dancing while supporting a holiday lighting upgrade when Project Christmas Lights 2026 hosts a fundraiser Saturday, June 6 at The LEX in Lexington. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and entertainment by Elwood and the Blues Masters will run from 7 to 10 p.m.

The event will raise money for new Christmas lights to decorate the 53 decorative light poles along Main and Franklin streets, helping upgrade a festive display that brightens Lexington each holiday season. Organizers say the benefit concert is designed to bring the community together while building support for the 2026 lighting project.

Guests can expect a high-energy evening from Elwood and the Blues Masters, a Blues Brothers tribute act promoted as a lively show filled with familiar rhythm and blues favorites and including Lexington’s own Cliff Payne. Dancing is encouraged, and the venue will feature a dance floor along with balcony seating, a chair section, and several stand-up tables throughout the space.

General admission tickets are $25 per person. VIP tickets are $100 per person and include a meet and greet with the band, reserved table seating, a T-shirt, a fedora and sunglasses. A concession bar with snacks and drinks will also be available during the event.

Tickets are available online through Eventbrite.com by searching “Elwood” — and may also be purchased at the Margaret Gray Center in Lexington from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Organizers encourage folks to attend, invite friends, and help make sure Lexington’s downtown streets shine brightly for Christmas 2026 and beyond. Get your tickets soon before the event sells out.
