Rocket Shoot-Off

The Lafayette County 4-H/FFA Fair Rocket Shoot-Off Contest was held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, on the south side of Grandview Elementary School in Higginsville. The event gave local 4-H and FFA members the opportunity to showcase their skills in rocketry, science, and engineering by launching rockets in a variety of competition categories. Participants demonstrated creativity, problem-solving abilities, and an understanding of aerospace principles through projects they designed, built, and tested.

Shooting Sports Contest

The Lafayette County 4-H Shooting Sports Contests were held across multiple dates throughout the summer, including June 20, June 27, July 12, July 17, July 18, and July 19, 2026. Competitions took place at Zeller’s Range near Lexington, with this year’s Shotgun Contest hosted at Lake City. The multiday event provided youth participants with opportunities to demonstrate their skills in a variety of shooting sports disciplines while emphasizing safety, responsibility, sportsmanship, and personal development.
