Candidates sought for Silver Haired Legislature
Care Connection for Aging Services is seeking several older community members to represent and advocate for their peers about legislative issues affecting senior Missourians. Residents 60 and older are being sought to file as candidates for the Silver Haired Legislature’s elected body. Care Connection oversees a delegation of 12 seats in the Silver-Haired Legislature House of Representatives and three seats in the Senate.

The Lafayette County Health Department will be closed Tuesday, March 3rd from 8 a.m.-noon for staff development. The Health Department will be open from noon-5 p.m. that day.

To the Citizens of Lafayette County: As Presiding Commissioner, I would like to thank my fellow Commissioners, Monica Ritter (Northern District) and Michael Brown (Southern District) for their service to Lafayette County. We welcomed Michael Brown to the Commission in November 2025 when he replaced Brad MacLaughlin as Southern District Commissioner. Brad resigned on October 8, 2025. Michael Brown subsequently received Governor Mike Kehoe’s appointment to fill that vacancy. He was sworn in on November 26, 2025.
