Terry wins six events in Missouri State Senior Games
Steve Terry of Lexington, who is both an outstanding Runner and Powerlifter, and a good all around athlete, took first place in 6 events, second in one and third in another, in the Missouri State Senior Games that were held on June 13 at Battle High School in Columbia.
Minutemen football schedule to look different this year

County adopts distribution schedule for local use tax revenues
The Lafayette County Commission recently adopted a local use tax ordinance that establishes a tiered distribution schedule (See Figure A) for local use tax revenues that will be distributed to the county, special road districts, and municipalities in Lafayette County.
Odessa man sentenced for possession of child sexual abuse material
William Mort, 32, of Odessa, appeared before Judge Josh Taylor, in the Lafayette County Circuit Court and entered pleas of guilty to six counts of the Class B Felony of Possession of Child Pornography. Lafayette County Prosecutor, Kristen Ellis Hilbrenner, represented the State at the plea and sentencing. By pleading guilty the defendant admitted to possessing moving images or videos of obscene materials involving children under the age of eighteen as participants in sexually explicit conduct.
Mayor: fiber companies going to be here a while
News Editor Digging by fiber optic companies is going to continue in Lexington for the foreseeable future, and Mayor Tom Hughes during last Tuesday night’s City Council meeting urged residents to be patient and use appropriate means for dealing with issues that may arise.

Bee sculpture finds new home in Main Street Park
News Editor Lexington Tourism Adviser Mike Elder’s bee sculpture — which was vandalized and destroyed in May in east Kansas City — has risen from the ashes and is back for public viewing.
