Three Lexington players receive All Conference recognition
Three Lexington Minutemen Baseball players received MRVC East All Conference recognition, as junior, Alex Kraft was named to the All Conference second team, while seniors, Trey Perez and Hunter Meyer both received Honorable Mention recognition.
Northland Christian and Faith Christian win state titles
A week ago Tuesday, Northland Christian and Faith Christian Academy, both from Kansas City, won State Boys Baseball Championships at the State Tournament that was played at Ozark High School.
Confederate Memorial Day to be marked June 13
The Confederate Memorial Friends Association, along with the Confederate State Historic Site in Higginsville is sponsoring the annual Confederate Memorial Day on Saturday, June 13. At 10 a.m., refreshments will be served at the pergola, to mark the completion of restoration of the foundation of the Confederate Memorial rock. At 11 a.m., the Memorial service will begin.
Honor Walk Project gaining steam
News Editor The Lafayette County Military Honor Walk Project got a nice boost last Thursday when a news crew from Channel 41-Kansas City visited Lexington to interview project committee members for a story.
Playground dedication June 13
News Editor The dedication ceremony for the new playground facilities at College Park in Lexington is set for Saturday, June 13 at 10 a.m., Mayor Tom Hughes announced at last week’s City Council meeting.
Community Fair dates change
The dates of the Lexington Community Fair have changed to Aug. 15-22, according to Fair Board member Deb Bagley.
Shroyer graduates from University of Montana
Nate Shroyer graduated cum laude from the University of Montana with a BSF Bachelor of Science in Foresty with a minor in Fire Science and Ecology.
Area students graduate from UCM
Area residents were among around 1,700 individuals who met graduate and undergraduate degree requirements and were eligible to participate in the University of Central Missouri’s (UCM) Spring 2026 Commencement exercises on Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9.
