Fitzgibbon Hospital to hold annual health fair
The annual Health Fair at Fitzgibbon Hospital will be held from 7 to 10 a.m., Friday, April 24, in the hospital’s atrium. This event provides easy access to numerous health screenings to help people “know their numbers” and is part of the hospital’s mission of “Improving the Health of our Community.”

Today is final day to RSVP for SWCD open house
The Lafayette County Soil & Water Conservation District will host the annual open house on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program will include Shelby Jenkins, MU Livestock Specialist, and Luke Skinner, NRCS Soil Scientist, who will present the Rainfall Simulator. The’winners of the 4th grade poster contest will be recognized. Lunch will be served by the SWCD board, past and present employees. The open house is free and open to the public. MoDOT crews to begin pothole repair
Punxsutawney Phil’s shadow may have signaled six more weeks of winter but that hasn’t stopped warmer weather in Missouri. MoDOT crews are taking this opportunity to focus on pothole repairs.

SF boys get big I-70 win, battle Otterville, Hardin Central
It was a Highway 23 showdown last Friday night at Santa Fe as the Chiefs took on the Concordia Orioles. The last meeting was in the conference tourney with CHS winning 46-39. Junior Will Leabo started the scoring party for the Chiefs getting a three ball to drop, then Logan Wilsie scored, four straight, Leabo got another bucket and CHS burned a timeout to talk things over down 9-0. Ethan Finkeldei scored the next basket, and at the 3:28 mark Concordia got on the board for 11-2. The Orioles showed some life though, drawing the quarter to a close at 13-7.
