Next LCRSP meeting is Oct. 8
Lafayette County Retired School Personnel (LCRSP) will meet Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, at the FCS office (4100 MO-13 Bus Hwy, Higginsville). Snacks and social time will start at 2 p.m. and the meeting at 2:30 p.m. The meeting will include a Meet and Greet with the candidates running for State Representative District 51 and 53 as well as an explanation of the issues on the Nov. 3 ballot. All retired teachers, support staff, spouses, active teachers, support staff, spouses, and the public are welcome to attend. Please enter through the front doors.

MDC: Report hemorrhagic disease
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is beginning to receive some reports of hemorrhagic disease (HD) in deer and is asking the public to help determine the extent of the disease by reporting suspected cases.
Chiefs nab homecoming win
Coach Jon Stockman’s team took on the St. Paul Saints in Alma last Friday night for a homecoming competition. The Saints enjoyed a 75-34 win last year over the Chiefs, but the Red and Black attack stood ready to take on the challenge.
Governor signs Executive Order establishing safeguards on Automated License Plate Readers
On Sept. 16, Governor Mike Kehoe signed Executive Order 26-18, establishing strict safeguards on the use of Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) technology, including Flock Safety cameras, to prevent the misuse of the personal location data of Missourians while preserving legitimate law enforcement uses of the technology.
