Today is final day to RSVP for SWCD open house

The Lafayette County Soil & Water Conservation District will host the annual open house on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program will include Shelby Jenkins, MU Livestock Specialist, and Luke Skinner, NRCS Soil Scientist, who will present the Rainfall Simulator. The’winners of the 4th grade poster contest will be recognized. Lunch will be served by the SWCD board, past and present employees. The open house is free and open to the public. Come learn about conservation practices and cost-share opportunities available through the District. Please RSVP 660-584-8732 ext 3 by Friday, Feb. 27.

Online comment period now open for I-70 Environmental Assessment

MoDOT and the project team have completed an environmental study that investigated and identified improvements for the I-70: I-435 to I-470 corridor. The Environmental Assessment (EA) under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), evaluated potential impacts the proposed transportation improvements could have on the project area’s natural and manmade environment.
