Governor appoints Higginsville man to Safe Drinking Water Commission
On Feb. 20, Governor Mike Kehoe announced four gubernatorial appointments to various boards and commissions.
Today is final day to RSVP for SWCD open house
The Lafayette County Soil & Water Conservation District will host the annual open house on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program will include Shelby Jenkins, MU Livestock Specialist, and Luke Skinner, NRCS Soil Scientist, who will present the Rainfall Simulator. The’winners of the 4th grade poster contest will be recognized. Lunch will be served by the SWCD board, past and present employees. The open house is free and open to the public. MoDOT crews to begin pothole repair
Punxsutawney Phil’s shadow may have signaled six more weeks of winter but that hasn’t stopped warmer weather in Missouri. MoDOT crews are taking this opportunity to focus on pothole repairs.
Online comment period now open for I-70 Environmental Assessment
MoDOT and the project team have completed an environmental study that investigated and identified improvements for the I-70: I-435 to I-470 corridor. The Environmental Assessment (EA) under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), evaluated potential impacts the proposed transportation improvements could have on the project area’s natural and manmade environment. Superintendent Lark warns of dire times ahead
The Santa Fe Board of Education met in regular session Thursday, Feb. 12 at Santa Fe High School. In his report, Superintendent Derek Lark focused on the future of the Santa Fe school district. He reviewed several pieces of legislation for the board and indicated he intends to host a ‘Town Hall’ style meeting in the future to educate and inform interested stakeholders.
