School is in session
School has resumed for students in the Santa Fe area! Trinity students returned to the classroom on Wednesday, Aug. 19 and Santa Fe R-X students returned on Tuesday, Aug. 25.

Santa Fe School Board holds annual tax rate hearing
The Santa Fe R-X Board of Education met in regular session on Wednesday, Aug. 19. The board met early at 6:30 a.m. to conduct the annual tax rate hearing and complete its regular board business. Following the meeting, board members remained for the district’s annual Board Breakfast with district staff.

LCRSP meeting is Sept. 10
Lafayette County Retired School Personnel (LCRSP) will meet on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, at the FCS office in Higginsville (4100 MO-13 Bus. Hwy). All retired teachers and support staff, active teachers and support staff, spouses, and the general public are invited to attend. Snacks and social time will start at 2 p.m. with the general meeting starting at 2:30. The guest speaker will be Travis Benton on the Restoration and Preservation of the Douglass School in Higginsville. Meetings are adjourned before 4 p.m.
No summer vacation for Lafayette County Retired School Personnel
Despite having a May through August break in regular meetings, Lafayette County Retired School Personnel (LCRSP) had a very busy summer! LCRSP is the local educational unit of MRTA – Missouri Retired Teachers and Education Employees Association. MRTA is the largest and only education association whose main purpose is to protect the PSRS/PEERS pension system and advocate for legislation that supports Missouri public schools. MRTA is non-partisan and nonprofit.
