At 7:00 pm on April 16, 2026 the Lafayette Board of Education met.

Members Present: Gina Kouril, Steve Dyer, Don Kennedy, Benton Williams, Kali Erdman, Barb Nolte, Kyle Anderson (Sworn in at 7:20pm) Matt Parks (Sworn in at 7:25pm) President Benton Williams called the meeting to order with six members present and one member absent. Don Kennedy moved to approve the agenda and Gina Kouril seconds.

Mr. Knipmeyer gave congratulations to Husker Vocalists and instrumentalists that received a I rating in solo or ensemble events at District Contest. Sherri Veach, Director of Transportation for ECCO Ride achieved a 100% on their bus safety inspection. Kadin Aversman, Ada Stoner, Parson Stoner and Chloe Tyler were named to the KMZU Dream Team. High School Student Council named a Missouri Honor Council by the Missouri Association of Student councils. Mr. Knipmeyer then announced the Lafayette County C-1 2025-2026 Staff of the year; Alivia Thirkield, Grandview Elementary, Angie Brown, Middle School and Dan Conner, High School. As well as the Lafayette County C-1 Teachers of the year; Marissa Brunkhorst, Grandview Elementary, Dalton Wiley, Middle School and Quentin Bainbridge, High School. The 2025-2026 District Staff of the Year was announced as Alivia Thirkield. The 2025-2026 District Teacher of the Year was announced as Marissa Brunkhorst.

Gina Kouril moved and Kali Erdman seconded the motion to appoint Aaron Knipmeyer temporary Chairman of the Board. Motion carried 6-0. Steve Dyer moved and Barb Nolte seconded the motion to accept the certification results from the Lafayette County Clerk. Motion carried 6-0. Benton Williams moved and Barb Nolte seconded the motion to dissolve the current Board of Education. Motion carried 6-0. The Swearing in ceremony was conducted for Kyle Anderson, Steve Dyer and Matt Parks.

Nominations for President were taken by the temporary chairman. First nomination was Steve Dyer second nomination was for Kali Erdman. Votes for president were taken in order of nomination. Steve Dyer received 3 votes, Kali Erdman received 4 votes. Kali Erdman was elected President. Steve Dyer was nominated for Vice-President. Steve Dyer was named vice president of the board by acclamation. Lindsey Munson was nominated for Secretary. Lindsey Munson was named secretary of the board by acclamation.

Gina Kouril was nominated for Treasurer. Gina Kouril was named treasurer of the board by acclamation.

Steve Dyer was named MSBA delegate by acclamation and Kali Erdman was named MSBA alternate by acclamation. Barb Nolte was nominated to be the DLT Representative. Barb Nolte is DLT Representative by acclamation. Mr. Knipmeyer gave a few legislative updates as his superintendents report. Retirement Open House will be held May 7, 2026, Graduation will be May 10, 2026 at 2pm, Last Day of School Reception will be held in the cafeteria on May 15, 2026 and the May Regular Meeting will be held May 20, 2026 at 7pm. The board will also hold a workshop meeting on May 7, 2026 at 5pm.
