On June 18, 2026 the Lafayette County C-1 School board of Education met. The following are the minutes from that meeting:

President Kali Erdman called the meeting to order with all members (Kyle Anderson, Steve Dyer, Gina Kouril, Don Kennedy, Barb Nolte and Matt Parks) present.

Gina Kouril moved to approve the agenda and Don Kennedy seconds.

Courtney Bergsieker, the Alternative Education teacher for Lafayette County C-1, gave a presentation on the program. She gave information on her main goals for students being placed in the ALC, clearing up misconceptions and had several students present to share their experiences attending the ALC. (More details of this program under a separate article in next weeks Advance.)

Don Kennedy moved and Steve Dyer seconded to approve the consent Agenda: Approve the minutes of Regular Meeting of May 20, 2026; Payment of Warrants; Approve May 2026 Finance Report; Approve Expense/ Revenue Report; Approve the Districts Literacy Plan for 2026-2027; Approve the Contract for Mindful Metrics Consulting; Approve the Contract for Gates Psychological Services; Approve the Compass Health MOU; Approve Missouri State Dual-Credit MOU; Approve RootED MOU; Approve District AMI Plan; Approve Pediatric Place Contract for 2026-2027.

Gina Kouril moved and Don Kennedy seconded the motion to approve the 2025-2026 budget revisions. Motion carried 7-0.

Steve Dyer moved and Don Kennedy seconded the motion to approve the 2026-2027 budget. Motion carried 7-0.

Gina Kouril moved and Kyle Anderson seconded the motion to approve the fund transfers for 2025-2026. Motion carried 7-0.

Mr. Knipmeyer gave an overview of the Culture and Climate survey results that were sent out to staff, students and parents in the Spring.

Kali Erdman gave a small recap on her school board training that took place earlier this week. She highlighted things she would like to implement or look into for the future.

Gina Kouril moved and Barb Nolte seconded the motion to adjourn to Executive session at 8:37pm to discuss Minutes as allowed by RSM0610.021, 1, Legal Issues as allowed by RSM0610.021, 1 & personnel issues as allowed by RSM0610.021, 3 & 1. Steve Dyer-aye, Gina Kouril-aye, Matt Parks-aye, Kali Erdman -aye, Kyle Anderson-aye, Barb Nolte -aye Don Kennedy – aye. Motion carried 7-0. Gina Kouril and Kyle Anderson seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:10pm. Motion carried 7-0.

Next Board of Education meeting will be held on July 16, 2026 at Central office.
