Baseball builds momentum with strong roster and work ethic

The Lexington High School baseball program is gearing up for an exciting season, fueled by a strong mix of experienced leadership and emerging young talent. With a total of 27 players participating this year—and many additional underclassmen contributing to the program—the Minutemen are building both depth and a competitive culture.

Lexington has a dedicated group of senior athletes who bring versatility and leadership to the field. Trey Perez will play a key role as both a pitcher and catcher, while Hunter Meyer adds flexibility with experience as a pitcher, catcher, and infielder. Drew Bollmeyer anchors first base, and Johnny Groves contributes as a third baseman and pitcher. Phoenix Kreie provides valuable depth across both the outfield and infield, and Jesse Dunkle rounds out the senior class with his work in the outfield.

The junior class also plays a significant role in the team’s development. Alex Kraft and Tristyn Hurshman both contribute as infielders and pitchers, offering consistency and versatility on both sides of the ball. Izac Huffman adds to the outfield.

At the sophomore level, several players will continue to play important roles. Braxton Emerson brings strength behind the plate as a catcher while also contributing in the outfield. River Howes and Kale Sander provide depth in the outfield, with Sander also seeing time on the mound. Abel Morris strives to contribute, continuing to develop as a key part of the infield. While these players highlight the roster, the program’s strength extends beyond those listed. Numerous underclassmen are working hard daily, contributing to practices and pushing the upperclassmen to compete at a higher level.

We are emphasizing a culture of effort and accountability. Players have committed to improving their fundamentals and overall baseball IQ. They will continue to work hard win or lose and make sure to have their school and community be proud of them. The Minutemen look to build on their preparation and translate their hard work into success on the field.
