Emergency crews responded to a gas leak Friday after a line was struck at 26th Street and Washington Street in Lexington.

The gas leak prompted evacuations and road closures in the area. The evacuation zone stretched from 26th Street and Hillside Drive to 26th Street and South Street.

At 1:42 p.m., repairs were made and it was safe for residents to return to the area. All roads were reopened.
