Lexington Early Childhood Center: Spring is Here We are excited about the warmer weather, the wind, and an opportunity to spend more time outside. At Lexington Early Childhood we celebrated Week of the Young Child last week.

Tuesday we held Screenings, Wednesday we had various obstacle courses items, Thursday we had bubbles, and Friday besides Kindergarten Screenings, we had fun “dressing up.”

Some of our preschoolers are excited about Parks and Rec sporting opportunities.

At our ECC playground, we recently received some donations. The children love the climbing dome, tractor tire, and the opportunity to garden in our flower boxes donated by Lexington FFA, Werle and Nordsieck families.

Almost any night of the week you can attend a Lexington sports event (tennis, softball, track, golf), and even if you don’t have a child or grandchild at the middle school or high school, you are invited to attend a school event and show your support for our Lexington R5 students.

Lexington ECC is excited to enroll new students, ages 3-5 years. ECC teachers will soon be determining placements for incoming students and parents will soon learn who their child’s preschool teacher will be this Fall. We are also getting ready for Summer School June 1st-30th.

Please call a Lexington school office and get the information needed to sign your child up. At ECC we are planning to offer preschool to students already attending a preschool this year.

Students going into Kindergarten will be attending summer school at Leslie Bell Elementary. Lexington students attending Leslie Bell, LMS and LHS will soon be taking some end-ofcourse, and subject tests. Please help your child be ready on their test day by helping them get a good night’s rest and offering some healthy snacks.
