Lexington track girls break three school records

The Lexington High School Girls Track Team established three new school records, won 6 events, and placed second in the Team Standings at the Bruce Finlayson Invitational Track Meet, last Friday in Carrollton.

For the Girls team, Zoey Earnest, Kai Sheperd, Phoebe Engelbrecht, Ellie Lichte and the 4×800 Relay Team, all earned first place finishes in the meet.

In addition, the 4×800 Relay Team of Tessa Lovell, Phoebe Engelbrecht, Addison Smith,and Ellie Lichte broke their own school record, and established a new mark (9:43), which is only four seconds off the State Class 2 record. Ellie Lichte also established a new school record in the 1600 Meter Run (5:08), breaking her previous mark, while Amanda Rodekohr broke her previous school record, and set a new mark in the Javelin (113’ 8”). For the Boys, Chael Lichte was the Champion in the 1600 Meter Run and second in the 800 while Cash Cole was second in the 400 Meter Dash. The Boys Team finished tenth overall.
