Miller and Potter place first in Higginsville golf meet

Lexington Minutemen Golfers Luke Miller and Wyatt Potter teamed up to take first place out of 11 teams, in the 2 man Scramble Division of the Husker Invitational Golf Tournament that was played last Wednesday on the Higginsville Golf Course.

Miller and Potter shot an 18 hole Scramble score of 68, while the 2 man Odessa and Carrollton teams tied for second with 71s. The Lexington Best Ball Team of Caden Murdock and Austin Dye, came in with a 90 for the 18 holes, while Jace Taylor, playing in the individual Division, carded a 124. The 2 man Carrollton Best Ball team was first with a 72, while Odessa was second, with a 76 and Richmond third at 78. Casson Kipping of Carrollton was the individual medalist with a 71, while Isaac Kaylor of Richmond was the runner up at 77, with Chase Hampton of Windsor third at 79. Carrollton won the team championship, with Richmond second, Odessa third and Oak Grove fourth. The Minutemen finished seventh as a team.

The Lexington Boys finished second in the Carrollton Tri meet a week ago Monday on the Carrollton golf Course. Carrollton was first with a team score of 170, while Lexington was second at 226 with Holden third at 245. For the Minutemen, Wyatt Potter shot a 48 for nine holes, Caden Murdock 56, Jace Taylor and Austin Dye both 61 and Hayden Ward 62.

A week ago Tuesday, the Lexington Golfers placed second at the Richmond Quad on the Shirkey Golf Course. Richmond placed first with a team score of 171, while Lexington was second at 226, Orrick third at 236, and Higginsville fourth at 253. For Lexington, Potter shot a 50 for nine holes, Dye a 56, Taylor a 59, Murdock a 61, and Ward a 68. Latimer Cavanah and Amos Farnan of Richmond were medalists with a 42.
