4-H Achievement Day showcases youth talent and hard work

The Lafayette County 4-H Achievement Day took place on June 20 at Lafayette County C-1 Middle School, highlighting the talents and accomplishments of local youth. Events throughout the day included judging contests, demonstrations, fashion revue, public speaking, Clover Kid activities, Western Heritage Personas and the annual King and Queen contest.
This year, 62 youth participated in conference judging, 54 demonstrations were presented, 12 youth took part in the Fashion Revue, 13 delivered speeches, and 12 Clover Kids proudly gave demonstrations of their own and 23 youth performed their Western Heritage personas.
The Lafayette County 4-H/FFA Fair King and Queen were crowned on Saturday June 20 as well.
Crowned King was Mason Bergsieker from Hitt 4-H and Morgan Nelson of Walkenezer 4-H was crowned Queen. Mason is the son of Scott and Jamie Bergsieker. Morgan is the daughter of Nathan and Carie Nelson.
Princess was Payton Heman from Wellington-Napoleon 4-H Club and the daughter of Clark and Rachelle Heman.
