Lexington golfers tee it up twice last week
The Lexington Minutemen Boys Golf Team had a couple of matches last week as they competed in the Lawson Triangular Meet last Wednesday and then faced St Paul in a dual match last Friday.
Lawson Triangular
This Triangular match was played on the Hidden Valley Golf Course in Lawson, and it featured Lexington, Mid Buchanan and Lawson.
The Lawson Cardinals were the Team Champions, as they recorded a 4 man nine hole total score of 160 for an average score of 40 per golfer. The Mid Buchanan Dragons finished second, with a total of 182, and an average of 45.5, while the Lexington Minutemen were third with a total of 196, and an average of 49.
Michael Phipps of Lawson was the medalist for the meet, with a 9 hole score of 37, while Nash Walters of Mid Buchanan was second one stroke back at 38, with Wyatt Potter of Lexington placing third with a 41.
For the Minutemen, in addition to the 41 that was shot by Potter, Luke Miller and Caden Murdock each recorded a 48, while Austin Dye fired a 59 and Jace Taylor a 61. The top 4 scores for each team are used in calculating the team score.
Lexington vs St Paul
This dual match between the Minutemen and the Saints was played at Shirkey Golf Course in Richmond Lexington won this dual as they had a total 4 man nine hole team score of 214, for an average of 51.5 per golfer, while St Paul shot a total score of 244, with an average sore of 61 per golfer. For the Minutemen, Luke Miller shot a 47, with Wyatt Potter recording a 49, while Caden Murdock had a 55, Austin Dye a 63 and Jace Taylor a 67. Brody Sheets was the low man for St Paul with a 60, while Creyton Sheets shot a 60.
The Lexington Golfers played in the MRVC Tournament this past Monday, played in the Lawson Tournament yesterday, and they will return to Lawson tomorrow for the District Tournament.
