Standings and records of area basketball teams
Following is a summary of the records and the conference standings of area high school basketball teams, as of the conclusion of games last week. Each team will be listed in order of its current conference standing, as well as its conference and overall record as of this past Friday, February 20, These are the final conference standings, for MRVC East and I-70 teams, while several MRVC West teams still have one conference game to play: MRVC EAST GIRLS: 1) Carrollton 9-1 22-3; 2) Knob Noster 8-2, 17-7; 3) Higginsville


Lexington girls fall to powerful Knob Noster on Senior Night
The Knob Noster Girls Basketball Team played very good defense, and they defeated the Lexington Minutewomen 58 to 28 last Thursday, on Senior Night in the Lexington Gym.
Minutemen shut down Holden offense in win
The Lexington Minutemen Boys Basketball Team held the Holden Eagles offense to single digit point totals in three of the four quarters, and they pulled out a 42 to 33 MRVC East Conference win, a week ago Tuesday on the Holden court.
Boys wrestlers run into tough luck in district meet
Many of the wrestlers on the Lexington Minutemen Boys team performed very well in the first few rounds of the District Tournament this past weekend in Higginsville, but things took a turn for the worst, as the team had some tough luck on the final day, and failed to qualify any wrestlers for this week’s State Tournament.

Earnest achieves two more career milestones
Lexington Minutewomen Basketball Star, Zoey Earnest, hit the jackpot again, as she recently established two more Milestones for her Basketball career at Lexington High School.

Minutemen comeback falls short on Senior Night
The Lexington Minutemen Boys Basketball Team trailed for almost the entire game, but they never gave up and they made a nice comeback, before falling 72 to 58 to the Knob Noster Panthers last Thursday on Senior Night at Lexington High School.

Super Bowl winning Seattle player has ties to Lexington
Amongst all the hoopla and spectacle, a few area residents had a particular reason to cheer for one of the two teams competing in Super Bowl LX. One Seattle Seahawk football player has ties to Lexington. That is, in a roundabout way.
Minutewomen comeback falls short
The Lexington Minutewomen Girls Basketball Team made a nice comeback, after falling behind early, but they could not quite get over the hump, as they fell 51 to 42 to the Higginsville Lady Huskers in an MRVC East Conference game, a week ago Tuesday in Higginsville.

Rodekohr, Lichte accomplish career milestones
Amanda Rodekohr and Chael Lichte, both Seniors at Lexington High School, recently achieved special Milestones in their athletic careers.
