Missouri Tigers earn spot in the Big Dance
The Missouri Tigers Men’s Basketball Team, that has lived on pins and needles for the past couple of weeks, found out late last Sunday afternoon, that they had earned a spot in the NCAA March Madness Basketball Tournament, that will begin tomorrow (Thursday) in numerous locations.
MRVC East names girls All Conference wrestlers
This past week the MRVC East Conference released the names of the Girl Wrestlers on the All Conference Wrestling Team for this past season. Senior Elizabeth (Izzy) Hager and Juniors, Mireya Gonzalez and Lainie Schumacher, of the undefeated Conference Champion Lexington team, were all named to the First Team, while their teammates, Amanda Rodekohr, Tenley Goetz, and Kaylyn Sander were all members of the Second Team. Minutewomen Elizabeth Rodekohr, Chloe Bennett and Trinity Adair all received Honorable Mention recognition. Following is a breakdown of all of the All Conference Wrestlers: FIRST TEAM: Bentley Thomas (Carrollton); Kyamila Huseynov (Higginsville); Macey Green (Holden); Tavia Seymour (Knob Noster); Haley Brooks (Holden); Mireya Gonzalez (Lexington); Izzy Hager (Lexington); Amelia Brown (Knob Noster); Lea Leaanna-Wilson (Knob Noster); Caroline Clements (Knob Noster); Lorerlei Weaver (Higginsville; Bailey Brown (Knob Noster); Gillian Davenport (Higginsville); Lainie Schumacher (Lexington).

Negro League baseball: They changed the game!
Negro League Baseball was different. Bunt to first, steal second, sacrifice to third, then — you bet — steal home. It was exciting and fast paced that put the pressure on the defense.

March Madness is finally here, and the Southeastern Conference Men’s Post Season Basketball Tournament will kick off with four games today (Wednesday) at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
Middle school basketball girls play well at the end
The Lexington Middle School Girls basketball team had a good month of January, as they went 6-5 during the month, and they placed third in the MRVC East Middle School Conference Tournament that capped off the season.

Former Lexington Minutemen basketball star, Damario Moss wrapped up his first college basketball season last week, and the Freshman compiled some impressive statistics, as a first year player with the Missouri Valley Vikings.

High school scoreboard fundraiser a big success
The Lexington High School Gymnasium was crowded last Friday evening, as a large number of Minutemen and Minutewomen supporters, of all ages, gathered for a Fundraiser, to help raise money for a new Scoreboard and Play Clock for the District Football and Track Stadium, at the high school.
