Salvador Perez accomplishes three unusual feats recently
If you remember, in the August 5 Lexington News, we highlighted the careers of Kansas City Royals star players, George Brett and Salvador Perez, and I made the claim that I thought that both of those career long Royals should share the title of, “Mr Kansas City Royal.”
Minutewomen Tennis Team drops first two matches
The Lexington Minutewomen Girls Tennis Team opened their season last week, as they had a dual match against Higginsville a week ago Tuesday, and another one the next day against Odessa, both on the road The match with Higginsville pitted the very young and inexperienced Minutewomen team against the defending MRVC East Champion Lady Huskers. This was a tough match for the Lexington Girls, as this was the first varsity match for many of them, and they really never got rolling and fell 90.
Minutewomen shine brightly in Grain Valley Glow Run
The Lexington Minutewomen Girls Cross Country Team Kicked off the 2026 season with a great performance, as they finished second as a team in the two mile Grain Valley Twilight Glow Run, a week ago Tuesday evening.
Minutewomen win one, drop two in North Platte Tournament
The Lexington Minutewomen Girls Softball Team opened the season. as they have for many years, in the always tough North Platte Tournament, that was played in Dearborn last Saturday.. Lexington dropped their first two games in the tournament to Lone Jack and North Platte, but then bounced back, scoring 13 runs on 12 hits, in a win over East Buchanan.
Minutewomen volleyball team plays three in home Jamboree
The Lexington Minutewomen Girls Volleyball team squared off against Richmond, Sweet Springs and Wellington- Napoleon in the pre season Volleyball Jamboree, that was played a week ago Tuesday in the Lexington High School Gymnasium.
Coach Wolken receives first Beyond the Game Award
It was announced at last week’s Meet the Minutemen, that Lexington High School Girls Tennis Coach Rodney Wolken has been named as the first recipient of the Lexington All Sports Booster Club’s “Beyond the Game Award.”
Minutemen drop season opening game to Lone Jack
The Lexington Minutemen Football Team fell behind early, and although they did some things very well during the course of the game, they could not get over the hump, and they fell to the Lone Jack Mules 27 to 6 in their season opening game last Friday night at Gil Rector Stadium.
