Parks honor military service
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources values the tremendous contributions and sacrifices made by members of the military and their families.

These ladies were young, “Junior” members of the Lafayette-Lexington Chapter of the DAR when “Missouri Juniors DARing to Cook Book!” was published about 50 years ago. Baseball regular season play winds up for area teams
This past week marked the end of regular season play for area high school Baseball teams, as most teams began District play, either at the end of last week, or the first part of this current week.
Minutemen rally comes up short as season comes to end
The Lexington Minutemen Baseball Team made a nice comeback but their rally came up a little short, as they fell to the Brookfield Bulldogs 8 to 6 in a first round District Tournament game at Carrollton last Friday.
Minutemen get nice win in final home game on Senior Day
Five Lexington Senior Baseball players, ended their home career in style, as they got a nice 3 to 0 win over Crest Ridge, in front of a large enthusiastic crowd on Senior Day, a week ago Tuesday at Lexington Community Park Hunter Meyer who pitched this game for Lexington, definitely made the most of the final home game of his high school career, as he gave up a single to the Crest Ridge leadoff hitter, but that was the only hit of the contest for the visitors, as Meyer hurled a complete game one hit shut out.
Minutemen fall in late innings to Plattsburg
In as good of a pitchers duel as you could see, the Plattsburg Tigers broke loose in the final two innings to beat the Lexington Minutemen 6 to 0 in a game a week ago Monday at Lexington Community Park.
State Track Meet information
The Class 1, 2 and 3 State Track and Field meet will be held this coming Friday and Saturday at Pete Adkins Stadium at Jefferson City High School, located at 609 Union Street in Jeff City. Following is a schedule of the event starting times for each of the races that Lexington runners will be participating in: Friday, May 22 1:15 pm Girls 1600 Meter Run: ( Ellie Lichte, Phoebe Engelbrecht, Addison Smith) 4:00 pm
Soendker receives James Cado Scholarship
The 2026 James Cado Scholarship has been awarded to Lexington High School senior Conner Soendker. He is the son of Kirk and Jennifer Soendker.
Viebrock scholarship winners
The Lexington Hall of Fame for Career Achievement is proud to announce this year’s recipients of the Arnold Viebrock Memorial Scholarship. Receiving the scholarships were Lexington High School seniors Kathryn Carter and Elizabeth Hager.

The recipients of the 2026 Darrick K. Homfeld Memorial Scholarship have been announced.
