Supper Out
Community Ministries of Waverly hosts Supper Out the last Tuesday of the month, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at various locations. Everyone is invited for eat-in or carry-out of a home-cooked meal. Come as you are and enjoy the fellowship. Donations are accepted, but NOT required. Schedule is subject to change.
LCCC general membership meeting
The next General Membership meeting of the Lafayette County Cancer Coalition will be Thursday, July 30, 2026 beginning at 7 p.m. at Salem United Church of Christ in Higginsville.
Trails Regional Library wraps up summer reading program
Events at Trails Regional Library will start to cool down a bit as the Summer Reading Program wraps up on July 25. The month of August will have lighter programming as we head back to school before fall programs begin.
2026 football season to kick off with new AD, football coach
There’s a new sheriff in town taking the helm for the Santa Fe Chiefs in football, and he is a familiar name to boot. Coach John Stockman, who played prep football at Santa Fe, will lead the Red and Black attack this fall and assume the Athletic Director position as well.
Mobile Vet Center to provide services in Marshall
On Saturday, Aug. 1, the Truman VA, Mobile Vet Center will be on-site in Marshall to provide services for area veterans and their families.
Baltimore Bend Vineyard receives medals at Missouri Wine Competition
The 2026 Missouri Governor’s Cup Wine Competition was held in Columbia on July 14-16. Eight judges spent two days blind tasting wines entered from across the Show-Me-State. There were 277 wines entered in this year’s competition. Prestigious judges with a variety of different skill sets, experiences and qualifications from across the United States awarded 61 gold, 103 silver and 65 bronze medals.
