Community Ministries of Waverly hosts Supper Out the last Tuesday of the month, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at various locations. Everyone is invited for eatin or carry-out of a home-cooked meal. Come as you are and enjoy the fellowship. Donations are accepted, but NOT required. Schedule is subject to change.

Long term closure on I-70 planned near KC

Crews will be conducting lane closures on Interstate 70 eastbound and westbound between 25th St. and the U.S. Highway 40 and 31st St. interchange from Saturday, Feb. 28 until May 2026. The initial lane closures will be for the installation of barrier wall for the long-term closure. The long-term closure will be in place for bridge construction at Cleveland Ave., 27th St., Lister Ave., and Oakley Ave. as well as for other work relating to the Improve I-70 KC project.

Auditor releases compilation of Criminal Activity Forfeiture Act seizure reports for 2025

On Friday, Feb. 27, Missouri State Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick released a compilation of property seizures made under Missouri’s Criminal Activity Forfeiture Act (CAFA) during calendar year 2025. The report shows law enforcement officials seized just over $3.4 million worth of property in 237 seizures. In 2024, law enforcement officials seized approximately $2.7 million worth of property in 230 seizures.
