Margaret Gray Center Activities

Spring has sprung at the Margaret Gray Center, and colorful decorations, exciting activities, and delicious food abound. Congregants and volunteers are grateful for warmer temperatures and will be celebrating on Sunday, April 12, with a Thankful for Spring Turkey and Dressing fundraiser from 11am – 1pm at the center in Lexington in the 4-Life building on South Business Highway 13.
Our always popular and fun trivia night with Tom Beard will be Monday, April 20. There will be no dinner served, but light munchies will be provided, along with lemonade, iced tea and coffee. Guests are welcome to bring their own additional snacks if they wish. Doors are open by 6:30pm and trivia will begin at 7pm. Bring a team of up to six people or come join a team on site. Cost for the evening is $10 per person.
It’s fun to be surprised at what you remember!
Daily congregant lunches are served weekdays from 11am until 12:30pm, and a myriad of other activities are available, including pool, puzzles, board games, Scrabble and bingo, not to mention fellowship, laughter, and conversation. Coffee and card groups meet at the center, including Bridge, Pitch and Pinochle. Lunches include a main course, two sides, dessert and drink for a requested donation of $7 for diners age 60+, $11 for under 60 or carry-out.
Volunteer drivers willing to share approximately 1.5 hours a month delivering meals to the homebound are needed and welcomed. Be someone’s angel by participating. Call for Rhonda or Debbie at the center to have your preference of day reserved to deliver.
You’ll be taught the route and given all the information you need to be successful and of great assistance to those who no longer have the mobility they once enjoyed.
The Margaret Gray Center volunteer corps was honored by Lexington’s Community Betterment Association this year with the Above and Beyond Award for their service to our community.
Please join us by volunteering, dining with us, or becoming a donor to help us continue our mission of serving Lexington’s senior population. You won’t regret it.
