Spring (or summer, due to unusual heat this early) was in the air Saturday at Knob Noster for the Huskers annual start to the baseball season.

Jamboree games were 4 innings each against Plaza Heights Christian of Blue Springs, and against Odessa.

Here is the press release by Truman State: Lucas Burns (OL, 6-3, 250) arrives from Lafayette County C-1 High School in Higginsville, Missouri, where he was a First Team All-State selection in both 2024 and 2025 and earned All-Conference and All-District honors three straight years (2023-2025). Burns helped the Huskers to three consecutive conference and district championships (2022-2024). A four-year varsity letterman in football (2022-2025) and three-year letterman in both basketball and track, Burns is a National Honor Society member and A Honor Roll student. The agriculture business major is also involved in FFA, FBLA, FCCLA, Science Club, Choir, and NHS while volunteering with local youth football and community service projects.
