The Tennis Team continues to see a lot of action here are results last week from the Warrensburg Doubles Tournament: #1 Doubles - Ada Stoner & Danika Richardson - 5th place, #2 Doubles - Alle Cunningham & Erma Strait - 7th place, 1st round #3 Doubles - Katelyn Davis & Nevaeh Lile - 8th place, #4 Doubles - Abbi Sellars & Karli Salyer - 8th place.

The Lone Jack Mules were brought in to play a Homecoming match on 9-18-26. With no shortage of activities going on due to it being Country Fair weekend as well, citizens could take their pick of events to attend. The weather was hot and the Husker’s start may have been even hotter as the Blue and Gold roared to a big halftime lead, on pace to picking up their first win of the year.

The Lady Huskers had a fun stretch of games recently including pasting defending state champs Holden 10-0 at home on 9-15. The game was scoreless until the 3rd inning when the Blue and Gold scratched a pair of tallies home, then got four more runs in the 4th, and 5th innings for the spread. Kendall Heck hit a triple and Paige Miller added a double in this one.

The Lady Huskers have been busy winning matches lately. The squad defeated Knob Noster on the road 8-1 on 9-3, with Ada Stoner at #1 winning 6-1 over Skye Fowler. Danika Richardson won 6-3 at #2, Alle Cunningham won 6-1 at #3, Erma Strait won 6-0, Katelyn Davis lost 6-7 (tiebreaker score 5-7) at #5, and Nevaeh Lile won 6-2 at #6.

Husker Volleyball vs Wellington-Napoleon Tigers

The Huskers played at Brookfield the day after the newspaper deadline due to the Labor Day printing schedule on 9-4-26. Upon getting off the bus after a long trip the Huskers would settle in with a Wesley Houston return to the Husker 40. Nolen Phillips went for 5, then again for 13. Breck Green caught a Corde Owens pass. Owens then kept and picked up a 1 st down on third and 7 with a 15 yard run. A few plays later Owens hit Rhett Bums for a TD pass, and 6-0 lead after a missed PAT.

The Husker Cross Country program hosted it’s annual event last week at the Confederate State Park. The boys had a top four finisher with Clay Aversman crossing the line at 18:18.8. Other finshers were 21st - Cru Bell, 20:12.4, #24 - Kingston Frauenhoffer @ 20:45.7, 26 - Colt Bayless 20:58.2, #32 - Bryson Smith, 21:27.4, #38 - Dilon Elliott 21:52.2, #54 - Liam Thompson 22:45.8, #55 - Owinn Elliott 22:46.9, #71 William Parks 24:21.9, #114-Bentley Clock 30:45.4.

Here are reports on a busy couple of weeks of Lady Husker Softball. As previously noted the Lathrop Round Robin Tournament was held on 8-29, where the team went 1 and 2 on the day.
