Lexington to go green for parade
Lexington’s 30th Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will step off at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 14 in downtown Lexington.
Judge denies county’s motion to intervene in classification suit
A judge hearing the Saline County Assessor’s lawsuit against the Saline County Commission ruled last week against Lafayette County’s request to intervene, a published report stated.

Homfeld Scholarship available
Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Darrick K. Homfeld Memorial Scholarship. This is the 28th year this scholarship has been available to assist students pursuing technical studies.

A number of local merchants attended the Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce’s Quarterly Luncheon on March 2 to hear Police Chief Josh Coen’s presentation on how our local police department can help assist with safety concerns. Candidates needed for Care Connection Executive Board1
Care Connection for Aging Services is seeking residents to file as candidates for its Executive Board of Directors. Board seats will be open for elections in these counties: Bates, Benton, Carroll, Chariton, Hickory, Lafayette, Saline, and Vernon.

This is why Missouri Farm Bureau is advocating for the adoption of the Landowners Fairness Act. The bill sets statewide standards – across all condemning authorities – for how landowners should be treated before, during and after the condemnation process.
